Hi.
Well, hi there!
Tell us a bit about yourself.
Ah, jeez. Well…I am a stay at home Mom and a photographer, which has come to be my favorite combo of things, because it gets me out of my shell. I can be pretty introverted, and being behind the camera helps with that. I’m a dreamer, maybe too much, I love being outdoors, reading poetry, and all manner of cheesy old-fashioned things.
If you had to describe yourself in three words, what would they be?
Dreamy (not in the looking sense), Intuitive, and odd? I don’t know.
Tell us the name of your business, and a little bit about how you got started, and what sparked your interest in it.
Cloudy Day Photography. This was a tough one. I didn’t want to use my name, because it’s too hard to spell. I was trying to think of something whimsical and different, to fit my style. I love windy, cloudy days, so there ya go.

I’ve always loved photography. As a kid I always had little film cameras, and could hardly wait to get the film developed. Occasionally I would have whole bags of film waiting. In high school I took SLR photography classes, and loved it!! There was something amazing about the cameras, and learning to develop the film in the dark room. If I had the time, I think I’d like to dabble in film again. Anyhow, a little over a year ago I officially started my business, and I love it.
How long have you been in business?
Ha. A little over a year.
What did you start out making and why?
Friends! Just kidding. Um, pretty pictures.
What was something you wish you would have done differently from the start?
I don’t really know…Maybe figuring out the whole website and pricing thing, but I sort of like how the progression has gone. I’ve been able to learn as I go, and my husband helps a lot with the website, SEO part of things, which has been really nice.
What has been your most embarrassing moment, if any?
I am pretty much embarrassed a lot for no reason, but I can’t really think of anything specific…yet.
If you could do any one thing, or add any one thing to your business, what would it be?
I would love to have my own studio space, to decorate as I please. I would rather shoot outdoors, but would like to have that. I’m blessed to have a studio space available, though. Also, I have a dream lens/camera combo that I am working toward, and I would be able to keep my camera as a back up, second shooter camera. Soon, I hope.
What is your biggest weakness in business, and do you have any tips for anyone starting a business of their own?
Search engine optimization, advertising, blah blah blah.I don’t like to put myself out there, so that has been a struggle, especially in this small business saturated world, it’s hard to get yourself out there. That and actually charging a set price. I always want to give people discounts or do shoots for free, because I like people, but I also want to help my family. I try to do both.

Describe your style in 3 words.
Whimsical, dreamy, poetic?
What is your favorite color?
Oh, my. Lately, black, gray, teal, and green.
If you could visit one place, where would you go?
Ireland!!
What or who inspires you the most?
My family, books, poetry, God’s creation. I almost never feel as inspired as when a nice breeze is blowing through the dusk. I suddenly want to be more than I am, and create something worthy of that beauty.
Do you prefer coffee or tea?
Coffee, but I like both.
Summer or Fall?
Fall!!
What sort of work environment causes you to flourish?
A quiet one, or being outside.
Are you a morning or an evening person?
Not morning, that’s for sure.
Favorite Food?
Mexican and Italian, and bacon. I pretty much just like food.
